Artists: Heather Carisch

Heather Carisch, a native of Minnetonka, Minnesota, studied at Western State College, Gunnison, Colorado, with Donald Lipinski at the Santa Fe Institute of Fine Arts, and then at the Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy. She works in many media: printmaking (lithographs and monotypes), paintings on canvas and on paper, and sculpture and assemblages. She names Helen Frankenthaler and Italo Scanga as important influences on her development as an artist. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally since 1992 in Minnesota; Montana; Texas; New York; Colorado; Tel Aviv, Israel; and Florence, Italy. Her work is featured in public collections such as The Carlson Company, Dorsey Whitney, First Bank, Park National Bank, Marquee Place and GLC Enterprises of Minnesota. A former competitive skier and continuing devotee of meditation, she lives with her family in Bozeman, Montana.
