Artists: Scott Metherd

As an impressionistic oil painter, Scott Metherd seeks to lure each of us into intimate scenes of daily life. His paintings capture people in everyday situations yet strive to reveal the beauty within each of us. Residing in rural Elizabeth, Colorado and working as a captain with the Denver Fire Department, Scott takes advantage of his many opportunities to observe people in a variety of settings. 

His fresh landscapes are taken from his travels and incorporate abstract elements. Scott enjoys painting outdoors and believes it helps him maintain authentic colors and values.
