Artists: Echo Ukrainetz

Echo is a talented artist and teacher. She's taught art, history and Spanish in the Great Falls area for many years. She has been working with batik since 1992 and enjoys experimenting with the many different aspects of the medium creating unique designs with vivid colors.

Batik is one of the "resist" processes for making designs on fabric, using wax to prevent dye from penetrating the cloth. Wax is applied to fabric, followed by dye in successive layers.

Echo and her husband Ron, also an artist, live and work in Great Falls, Montana.
